NextImg:Bills’ Gabe Davis has screaming match with fans ahead of free agency

The Gabe Davis era in Buffalo may have ended in a screaming match with fans.

Davis, who did not play in Sunday’s divisional-round defeat, yelled back and forth with fans while leaving the field after the 27-24 season-ending loss to the Chiefs.

The video showcased Davis turning and screaming toward fans who were chirping him after the Bills’ latest crushing playoff ouster.

Bills tight end Dawson Knox tried to nudge Davis away from the fans, but Davis stayed focused on the fans, doing a turn-and-shout while leaving the field.

“You can’t even run a route right,” one person said. “Get the f–k outta here.”

Engaging in a screaming match with a fan is never a good idea, and this one seemingly indicates frustration on both sides before Davis becomes a free agent.

Warning: Graphic language

While money always talks, the early indications are Davis may be headed elsewhere after being phased out of the offense down the stretch.

Davis said he anticipates hitting free agency and is open to returning to the Bills, although they had a chance to extend him and did not, according to ESPN.

The 24-year-old has always been up and down since he’s a vertical threat, but he had a lot of games without being involved this season.

He finished his year with 45 catches for 746 yards and seven touchdowns.

Davis posted four goose eggs in his final eight games, and also had five other games with less than 40 receiving yards.

Following Joe Brady’s promotion to offensive coordinator on Nov. 14, Davis tallied 12 catches on 26 targets for 256 receiving yards and two touchdowns over his next six games.

He notched three games with zero catches in that stretch.

Davis had just six catches for 151 yards and one touchdown in his final five games, following his six-catch,105-yard, one-touchdown showing against the Eagles on Nov. 26.

It’s possible the Giants, given their lack of playmakers and connection to Buffalo, could be a potential suitor for Davis in free agency.
