NextImg:Bill Belichick’s son Steve draws Jonah Hill comparison as UNC’s defense gets torched in season opener

Billy, this is Steve Belichick. He looks like Jonah Hill.

“His only defect is that his defense can’t stop a nosebleed.”

The North Carolina Tar Heels’ defensive coordinator had a tough night Monday during their 48-14 loss to the TCU Horned Frogs, but he created quite a stir with his new look.

Belichick was drawing plenty of comparisons from the social media world to the two-time Oscar-nominated actor Hill, who starred in the 2007 hit film “Superbad” and went on to headline many others.

For our money, Belichick’s closest resemblance is to Hill from 2016’s “War Dogs,” where he is slightly trimmed down and his hair slicked back.

Although, to be fair, this picture doesn’t show that Belichick — the son of UNC coach Bill Belichick — actually has a ponytail behind that slicked-back hair.

Belichick might need to start taking acting lessons from Hill after his defense got blasted to the tune of 542 yards and a horrific 258 rushing yards on 7.4 yards per carry.

He previously served as the University of Washington’s defensive coordinator, but departed when his father took the Tar Heels’ head coaching role in late 2024.

He also spent time with the Patriots during their historic run to multiple Super Bowls, initially starting as an assistant in 2012 and advancing to Safeties Coach from 2016-19.

The Belichicks have their work cut out for them as they look to figure out what went wrong during Monday night’s dismantling.

“They were clearly the better team tonight,” Bill said postgame after the loss. “They deserved to win, and they did it decisively.”

“Look, they just outplayed us, they out-coached us. They were just better than we were tonight. That’s all there was to it. They controlled both sides of the line of scrimmage. Their skill players played well. They just did a lot more things than we did.”
