Bill Belichick seems to be getting the hang of this whole Instagram thing.
Days after Tom Brady declared the “party’s over” with Belichick joining the social media platform, the six-time Super Bowl-winning head coach responded to the playful jab in a new video Sunday as the former Patriots quarterback readies to make his regular-season debut as a Fox NFL broadcaster.
“Hey, Tom, what do you mean the party’s over, just getting started,” Belichick began. “Wanted to wish you well today in your opening game in Cleveland.”
Belichick then took a brief stroll down memory lane, recalling how his first game as Cleveland’s head coach in 1991 was also against Dallas but “it didn’t go so well for me.”
“I’m sure you’re going to do great, can’t wait to watch you today,” he concluded with a grin.
Before Belichick was hired by the Patriots in 2000, the same year the team would draft a then-unknown Brady and eventually build a legacy spanning six championships, the 72-year-old served as the Browns’ coach from 1991 to 1995.
The Browns lost to the Cowboys, 26-14, in Week 1 and finished the season at 6-10.
Although Belichick isn’t on an NFL sideline this year, the legendary coach – who is eyeing a return for 2025 following his Patriots’ exit in January — is keeping busy.
In addition to media opportunities on ESPN’s “ManningCast” and “The Pat McAfee Show,” Belichick has been enjoying some R&R with 23-year-old girlfriend Jordon Hudson, who welcomed him to Instagram last week.
As for Brady, who zinged Belichick over his Instagram decision last week in a brief video, he will make his highly anticipated debut as an NFL analyst on Sunday afternoon when the Browns host the Cowboys in Cleveland.
The seven-time Super Bowl champion agreed to a monster 10-year, $375 million contract with Fox in May 2022.
Brady spent the final three years of his NFL career with the Buccaneers after 20 seasons in New England.
He retired in February 2023.
