Former Big Brother houseguest Luke Valentine, who was removed from the show following his use of the N-word in conversation with fellow houseguests Cory Wurtenberger, Hisam Goueli and Jared Fields, believes his elimination was “the wrong decision.”
After he shared a bizarre response to his removal via his Instagram story on Monday (Aug. 14), in which he told fans to “keep the flames stoked,” Valentine took to Instagram yesterday (Aug. 16) to host an hour-long live stream, reportedly recorded from Havana where he works as a dishwasher, per Entertainment Weekly.
He invited viewers to ask him questions while he smoked a cigar, telling them, “I feel like a king without a kingdom” as comments rolled in.
He also noted that he’s “been too sad to watch” new episodes because he misses the contestants.
When asked if he’s “upset at the production,” he quickly denied any hard feelings on his end, claiming that “their hands were tied.”
“They had to make a sacrifice,” he said. “I understand why. It is upsetting. I think they made the wrong decision. I think a slap on the wrist would have been a much better thing.”
When asked who he will keep in touch with from the show, he admitted he’s “not sure if anyone is going to want to keep in touch with [him].”
“At this point, apparently, I’m pretty radioactive,” he added, saying that “it’s blowing over pretty fast” and that he is allegedly receiving fewer hate comments than he initially did.
“As much as I love everybody on the show and I still do, they kind of have to hate me,” he continued. “Them’s the breaks.”
He expressed some remorse, explaining that he “felt bad about what [he] said the moment it happened,” and then continued to reveal how his removal was handled on set.
“They just wrapped me up and threw me in a room for seven hours,” he said. “I spoke to HR and then they shipped me back home,” which he described as “devastating.”
“It was very upsetting. It was very sad. And that’s why it’s just… what do I say after that?”
New episodes of Big Brother air on CBS on Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights.
