After recently opening up about her lung cancer diagnosis and surgery, Kate Micucci has informed fans that she is now cancer free. According to Variety, The Big Bang Theory actress shared the uplifting update with fans on TikTok on Saturday (Dec. 16), thanking them for “the good wishes and all the love” she received since telling the public about her surgery.
“It meant so much to me, and really came at the time that I really needed it, so thank you,” she said, prior to revealing her “great news.”
“I am cancer free and the surgery last week went great,” she explained. “All of the reports came back that it worked. I don’t need to do any other treatment, so big thank yous to all of my doctors and nurses and everyone that took just really great care of me.”
She also expressed her gratitude for “figuring it out early,” and said she is aware of the fact that she is “very, very very lucky.”
“I’m just really grateful that things worked out as they did and I’m feeling really good today,” she continued. “And I’m honestly just so excited and truly grateful, so thank you all for all of the prayers and wishes, and I’m just glad that I can report some good news to you.”
Micucci concluded the video on a heartwarming note, telling fans that she’s “excited to hang with [her] little boy for Christmas,” as she featured a clip of her giving him a kiss.
Previously, Micucci had shared what she deemed a “SickTok,” informing fans of her lung cancer surgery. She said that the diagnosis came as a shock to her, considering she’d “never smoked a cigarette in [her] life.”
“It was a surprise, but also, I guess it happens,” she noted. “And so the greatest news is they caught it early, they got it out, I’m all good.”
