NextImg:Biden’s ‘wall’ 180 is just another deceptive stunt

Three years — and roughly 7 million illegal migrants — after candidate Joe Biden vowed, “There will not be another foot of wall constructed in my administration,” we finally get a never mind.

Of sorts, anyway: The Department of Homeland Security is moving to build 20 miles of wall — a move revealed by notice late Thursday in the Federal Register that Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas was waiving various “legal requirements” to get it done.

Mayorkas even cited the “acute and immediate need” to build it “to prevent unlawful entries into the United States.”

Now they say so!?

C’mon: That need has been “acute and immediate” from the day Biden took office and rapidly dismantled every policy that was restricting the inflow.

It has remained obvious as the Bidenites sold off wall materials lest they somehow get used.

And as Mayorkas’ minions cut through border barbed wire that Texas installed to restrict the flow.

Heck, the Biden administration is still in court trying to stop Gov. Greg Abbott from deploying barriers in the Rio Grande.

Make no mistake: Team Biden wanted word to go out that it’s “building a wall.”

News of Mayorkas’ obscure filing broke too fast for it to be otherwise.

The brain trust noticed that the president’s polls on this issue are deep underwater, while big-city mayors, and the liberal governors of Democratic-run states like New York, Illinois and Massachusetts, are screaming.

So it ordered a stunt, a move that’s entirely about setting up a talking point: We’re doing everything we can! Even building some wall!

(More hypocrisy: The White House is playing to the left, too, having Biden say he “can’t stop” the construction, gosh darn it. Of course he could — after all, it hasn’t been built in the past two years).

Yet this wall is destined for one small area: Starr County, Texas. It won’t change anything on the other 1,900-plus miles of the border.

Not for tiny, overwhelmed Eagle Pass or swamped El Paso — let alone Arizona’s border towns.

More important, it doesn’t change the Biden “wave them in” policy: Potential illegal migrants know (because they hear it from those who’ve already come across) that they’ve got an excellence chance of being let in.

So ever more head to the border, dwarfing the Bidenites’ various tricks to make the numbers look smaller.

And they’ll keep coming until they hear — from family and friend networks, not any media or politicians — that it’s not worth it, you’ll just get turned away.

The Biden administration has yet to lift a finger to make that happen.

Even as the disaster threatens to sink this presidency, he and his team offer nothing but gestures, juked numbers and outright lies.
