Diary of disturbing disinformation and dangerous delusions
This boast:
“[The anti-Trump ruling was] necessary to protect the future of democracy in our country.”
— CREW President Noah Bookbinder, Tuesday
We say: Bookbinder, whose group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington brought the Colorado suit to deny people a chance to vote for Donald Trump, claimed booting him from the ballot will “protect” democracy.
Right: As David Harsanyi snarks, “Nothing says ‘democracy’ quite like throwing people off ballots for crimes they haven’t been convicted of.”
This charge:
“[GOPers opposed to the Trump ruling are] siding with Confederates who betrayed this country.”
— NY Times editorial-board member Mara Gay, Wednesday
We say: The Capitol Riot, which the court (falsely) accused Trump of participating in, wasn’t remotely like the Civil War, which claimed 600,000 lives.
And disagreeing with the ruling is nothing like “siding” with secessionists.
Are the three Dem-appointed justices who opposed the ruling also siding with Confederates?
Then again, Gay once claimed Michael Bloomberg could’ve given each American $1 million with the $550 million he spent on his presidential bid. Uh, a million per American is $335 trillion.
Why does she even get a platform?
This tweet:
We say: Perhaps Daily Beast columnist Wajahat Ali is right that Israelis should refrain from responding to the never-ending slaughter-fests Hamas has promised.
Yes, eventually they’d all be dead at the terrorists’ hands — but at least they’d preserve the world’s “goodwill.”
This response:
Reporter: “Why are you losing in the polls?”
President Biden: “You’re reading the wrong polls.”
— Sunday
We say: Sorry, Prez. The RealClearPolitics average of all major polls has had Donald Trump beating you for weeks in a head-to-head matchup.
Heck, a Monmouth University poll Monday actually showed your favorability rating below that of even Vice President Kamala Harris — yes, word-salad dingbat Kamala.
The polls you must be reading are clearly the imaginary ones in your head.
