A trip to the World Series is on the line tonight in Houston when the Astros host the Texas Rangers in Game 7 of the ALCS.
BetMGM Sportsbook lists the over/under for this game at nine runs and I like the under in such a crucial game. Cristian Javier has pitched well in the playoffs for Houston and I expect Max Scherzer to be at his best tonight.
Javier has a 1.69 ERA over 10.2 innings this postseason. He gave up zero earned runs in his first start, then allowed two earned runs in the Astros’ Game 3 win. While Javier may not have been Houston’s best pitcher in the regular season, Astros fans should feel comfortable with him on the mound tonight.
Scherzer also started Game 3, and he gave up all five earned runs in the Rangers 8-5 loss. That was clearly not good enough and a future Hall of Famer like Scherzer should bring his best stuff tonight in such a big game.
