After suffering close losses last week, the Buccaneers and Bills meet up in Buffalo for a Thursday Night Football showdown.
BetMGM is favoring the Bills by 9.5 points and that just feels too high. I think Buffalo will win but Tampa Bay is not some awful team that is destined to be blown out.
The Buccaneers enter this game at 3-3 with a -1 point differential, which indicates that they are a very average team. There are still a ton of players from the Super Bowl championship team on this year’s roster, with Mike Evans leading the team in receiving yards and touchdowns (468, 4 TDs) and Vita Vea with a team-leading 3.5 sacks. Plus, Baker Mayfield has been fine at quarterback with eight touchdowns and four picks.
While the Bills may be the better team, it’s hard to trust them. A close loss to the Jaguars in London is forgivable, but losing to the Jets in Week 1, the Patriots last weekend, and only beating a bad Giants team by five points raises a lot of questions about this team. Josh Allen continues to play YOLO ball way too often (he already has seven interceptions) and that limits the offense. One strength for Buffalo is its pass rush that has 25 sacks, which is second in the NFL.
