The Royals have been atrocious offensively this season, hitting .245/.300/.375 as a team with the third-fewest home runs (72) in the majors this season heading into Thursday.
Senga was looking like one of the best pitchers in baseball before pulling his hamstring, giving up three or fewer earned runs in all 13 starts, and two or fewer earned runs in 12 of 13 starts this season.
With the Mets likely to take it easy on Senga with the All-Star break looming, I’m betting the Royals won’t get much on the board against him.
