Bethenny Frankel slammed dating men in their 50s, claiming they’re all just looking for an “adult pen pal” who will sleep with them.
“I’m going to tell you something most of you don’t know about men,” the “Real Housewives of New York” alum, 54, said in a new video from behind a pair of oversized green sunglasses.
“When they’re in their 50s, and they’ve been married, and they’re dating — it’s the worst era,” she continued. “And sadly but truly I’ve been through every era of men. And this is the age where they like to breadcrumb. They want pen pals.”
Frankel continued the Instagram rant, saying that men in their 50s are preoccupied with “their careers, they’ve got their sports cars, they’ve got their money, they’ve got their ex-wives, their kids. They’re busy,” the Bravolebrity said. “They want to date, they want to get laid.”
But what they don’t want, the reality star said, is “connect and communicate,” because they’ve “somehow lost that skill” amid the pressures of careers and parenthood.
“They haven’t had to do much, because the women handled a lot of the stuff at home, so they haven’t had to deal with the emotional connection,” she remarked while twisting her braid.
Frankel said she had “ten examples” of men reaching out “as if they were madly in love with you,” she explained, adding that when she responds “normally” they “dissolve until the next time they just want to surface.”
“They are looking for adult pen pals that perhaps they could sleep with,” she reiterated.
The mom of one completed the social media rant by calling out an interaction with a particular man. And “I literally sent someone a text saying ‘this breadcrumb communication style doesn’t work for me. If there’s something you would like to ask for or need, please reach out. But otherwise, peace the f–k out.'”
Frankel delivered the rant while rocking a summer-ready multi-colored crop top over what appeared to be a turquoise halter bikini top, and included text reading “Dating men in their 50s” over the video.
“What do you think?” she captioned the video, adding hashtags including #datingadvice, #storytime and #datinguniversity.
Frankel’s fans took to the comments thread to sound off, with many agreeing with the former “RHONY” star.

“You are straight up preaching the truth! I’d like to hear all the pitfalls from every decade ????????,” wrote one follower, while another remarked, “Of all the things you ever posted – and that’s a big huge pool – this is likely to be the truest Soundest most spot on – ever. And very helpful to lots of women I would imagine!”
Others had suggestions of their own. “Go younger ladies and thank me later ????????,” wrote one, while another countered, “Get you a good 80 and up ???????? they are treating the girls like GOLD.”
The swimsuit model was most recently linked to Tom Villante, whom she was seen holding hands with and even kissing during a romantic beach day back in December.
She was previously married to Peter Sussman in 1996, and Jason Hoppy from 2010 to 2021, with whom she shares daughter Bryn, 15.
Shortly after finalizing her divorce from Hoppy, she memorably became engaged to Paul Bernon in 2021 — the duo split in 2024.
Earlier this month, Frankel confirmed she’s single. “Last year I was dating, partying and traveling,” she told Page Six Style.
“This year I’m single and really happy. I like myself. For the first time, I don’t need someone to complete me. I’m not an IKEA piece of furniture — I’m already assembled.”
