After a second-half collapse, the Philadelphia Eagles are hitting the road as a wild card team to take on the Buccaneers in Tampa Bay on Monday.
Philadelphia is a three-point favorite on bet365 Sportsbook and that makes sense. If Baker Mayfield were healthy, then the Buccaneers would probably be my pick, but with his status in question the Eagles are a safer pick.
Mayfield is questionable to play with ankle and rib injuries and was limited at practice this week.
He only threw for 137 yards in the Buccaneers’ 9-0 division-clinching win over the Panthers in Week 18, so there’s real concern about how well he would play if he does suit up.
It’s hard to defend the Eagles at this point.
Philly has lost five of its last six games entering the playoffs and A.J. Brown is out for this game. With a limited offense, look for WR DeVonta Smith, TE Dallas Goedert and RB D’Andre Swift to see a lot of action Monday.
The Eagles get lucky by drawing an injured Mayfield, and I think that will be enough for them to win and cover.
