An NFL love story stole the primetime spotlight on “Monday Night Football.”
Cowboys cheerleader Zoe Dale was in a pretty unique situation as she was cheering on Dallas’ opponent on Monday night after her kicker boyfriend Cade York signed with the Bengals to replace an injured Evan McPherson.
Cameras captured Dale’s reaction when York lined up to hit an extra point after the Bengals scored a touchdown to cut Dallas’ lead to 7-6 late in the first quarter.
Dale was relieved when York made the extra point to tie the game at 7-7.
“Thank God, Praise God,” she said while smiling.
“You can’t make this up,” ESPN broadcaster Troy Aikman said after the kick.
ESPN sideline reporter Lisa Salters noted the couple had been together around seven months.
York, who was the Browns starter as a rookie in 2022, made all five of his kicks — two short field goals and three extra points.
The Bengals went on to beat the Cowboys 27-20 after Cincinnati quarterback Joe Burrow threw a 40-yard touchdown pass to wideout Ja’Marr Chase in the final minute.
“We needed a break,” Burrow said after the Bengals snapped a three-game losing streak. “We haven’t got many this year, but it was nice to get that one and nice to come out of this with a win.”
York and Dale also posed for photos together on the sidelines at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
York is a native of McKinney, Texas, which is about an hour away from Arlington.
The LSU product, who signed with the Bengals on Dec. 4, was activated after McPherson was put on IR with a right groin injury.
York — who was selected by the Browns in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL draft — started the season with Washington and went 0-for-2 on field-goal tries in Week 1.
