NextImg:Ben Stiller jokes he’s a ‘trophy husband’ on red carpet with wife Christine Taylor, rarely seen son Quinlin

Ben Stiller joked that he’s just “riding” on wife Christine Taylor’s coattails at a charity event.

The couple was on hand to co-host the 25th Project ALS gala in New York City Thursday night, and made it a family event by bringing along their rarely seen son, Quinlin.

Despite Stiller long being involved with the charity – which raises money for scientific and medical research to find a cure for ALS, a progressive neurodegenerative disease – he told Page Six exclusively that he doesn’t do the heavy lifting.

“Christine’s on the board, so she does the real work for a lot of years,” the “Zoolander” star, 57, explained.

“I’m a trophy husband,” he added. “I’m riding her coattails, for sure. She has done so much and she’s been committed for so long.”

The organization was co-founded by Jenifer Estess and her two sisters.

Estess – a theater producer and longtime pal of Stiller’s – was diagnosed with ALS in 1998 and died in 2003 at the age of 40.

Taylor noted that the organization, which has raised over 100 million dollars over the years, is run by strong women. “We have our strong men supporting us,” she said, turning lovingly to Stiller.

The couple married in 2000 and separated in 2017 after 18 years of marriage. In addition to son Quinlin, they also share daughter Ella, 21.

“With tremendous love and respect for each other, and the 18 years we spent together as a couple, we have made the decision to separate,” the pair wrote in 2017.

However, in 2022, Stiller revealed that the couple had reconciled while quarantining together as a family during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The “Meet the Parents” star told Esquire magazine that the duo were able to reignite their spark in a very organic way.

“Then, over the course of time, it evolved,” the actor said of his relationship with the “Brady Bunch” alum.

Taylor has also opened up about their reunion.

“We had all this time to talk,” Taylor, 52, told Drew Barrymore earlier this year on her eponymous talk show about their reunion.

“There were no other distractions. It was a really special time,” she added, calling their renewed romance “organic” and “natural.”

Quinlin, 18, who has attended Project ALS events over the years, shared that it’s a hectic time for him as he’s busy applying to colleges.

“It’s not the best,” he conceded, “but we face it, we do it, we get through it!”

Other celebs on hand at the red carpet event included Molly Ringwald, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Gina Gershon and Julianna Margulies.
