The Beastie Boys, immortalized last month by a Lower East Side street corner named in their honor, were shaped by the city they grew up in.

Now, the childhood home of the band’s co-founder, Mike D (Michael Diamond) — a spacious duplex at the famed El Dorado on the Upper West Side — has sold for $13.5 million, according to property records and news first reported by Crain’s.

The 18th- and 19th-floor co-op at 300 Central Park West, between 90th and 91st streets, first hit the market for $19.5 million last year, and comes with a hefty $22,300-a-month maintenance fee.

It went into contract in May, after a $4.5 million price cut, as Gimme Shelter previously reported. The 6,300-square-foot, six-bedroom, 7½-bath home features an 800-square-foot wrap terrace, and picture-perfect views of Central Park and the Reservoir. It’s a combo of four separate units acquired over time for around $2.6 million, according to reports, before renovation costs.

All of the main rooms open to private outdoor space. Details include high ceilings, moldings, herringbone floors, a 29-foot living room, a curved staircase, a landing with built-in bookcases — and plenty of space to showcase art.

The new owners are Robert Bressman, a real estate lawyer, and his spouse, Amy. The seller is the estate of Hester Diamond, Michael’s late mother, a social worker-turned-art collector and philanthropist who moved into the building when it was a rental in the 1960s.

At the time, she was married to the late Harold Diamond, a teacher-turned-collector, who passed away in 1982, the same year the building turned co-op. Hester Diamond stayed, later remarried and lived there for more than 50 years before she passed away at age 91 in 2020.

The art collection, including works by Picasso, Willem de Kooning and Mark Rothko, was auctioned by Sotheby’s in 2021 for $26.7 million, according to reports.

The landmarked, Emery Roth-designed Art Deco building dates to 1931 and features a concierge, a gym, a children’s playroom and a half-basketball court.

The listing brokers were Michael J. Franco and Amy Katcher of Compass.
