At least three people were killed and two New York City Police Department officers were injured early Sunday morning after a stabbing rampage and fire at a home in Far Rockaway, Queens, law enforcement sources said.
Officers received a 911 call reporting an assault at 467 Beach 22nd Street, a multi family home, just after 5 a.m. Sunday.
When officers arrived at the location, they discovered three people had been killed, fire officials told The Post.
One of the responding officers was slashed in the face by a suspect and another was slashed in the neck, law enforcement sources said.
A police officer then shot the suspect, who is in critical condition, according to sources.
The injured NYPD officers were taken to Jamaica Hospital, where they were expected to recover, according to the sources.
Another three people were taken to local hospitals in critical condition, according to the FDNY.
When the FDNY extinguished the fire, they found three additional dead stabbing victims, sources said.
The fire was being investigated by FDNY Marshals.
Police are expected to address the media at an 8:30 a.m. news conference at the hospital.
