The truth hurts sometimes, but that won’t stop Asante Samuel from telling it.
“I’m here to clear this up; there ain’t no beef,” Samuel told TMZ Sports. “All I did was say that I think Tariq Woolen had a better season than the other rookie, period.”
“All I did was say I think Bill Belichick isn’t the greatest coach,” Samuel continued in his rant.
The former star cornerback, Samuel, claimed last week that the Jets’ Sauce Gardner was getting more respect than Tariq Woolen thanks to the New York media.
“I’m a critic just like y’all,” he said. “Y’all wake up, man. Y’all stop actin’ like clowns.”
Gardner was ranked as the No. 2 cornerback in the NFL, and Samuel believes Hall of Famer Darrelle Revis enjoyed a similar benefit during his time in the Big Apple with the Jets.
“The tweet literally says those were the cornerback rankings by PLAYERS, EXECUTIVES, SCOUTS, & COACHES… I’m trynna figure out why you keep bringing up NY Media,” Gardner fired back in a tweet.
Meanwhile, Revis also took to Twitter to defend Gardner’s talents while calling Samuel a hater.
Samuel was also quite opinionated on his time with the New England Patriots, resulting in a follow-up claim about his former coach.

“It was all Tom [Brady]; I was there, I saw it, it was Tom,” Samuel told CBS.
Samuel achieved plenty as a member of Belichick’s defense for five seasons from 2003-2007, winning two Super Bowls with Tom Brady running the offense.
He could have had a third ring, though.
Samuel dropped the game-winning interception during Eli Manning’s magical game-winning drive that included David Tyree’s helmet catch and Plaxico Burress’ touchdown with 35 seconds remaining as Big Blue went on to defeat the previously unbeaten Patriots in Super Bowl 42.
That would end up being Samuel’s final game as a Patriot, having served his rookie contract and was franchise tagged for the 2007 season.
The ball-hawking cornerback signed a six-year $54 million deal with the Eagles that offseason where he’d torment the Giants for four more years.
