A 23-year-old man was released from prison in Arizona and promptly stole a semi-truck towing over $1 million worth of new Corvettes because he needed a ride home, cops said.

Isaiah Walker, of Lawton, Oklahoma, stopped to talk with a truck driver at the Willcox Loves Struck Stop near Interstate 10 and “lulled him into a sense of security” before throwing him out of the cab, the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office said.

Walker then allegedly took off in the semi, along with 10 Chevrolet C8 Corvettes — estimated to be worth over $1.25 million.

Deputies eventually spotted the stolen vehicle and attempted to pull it over, but the driver refused to stop before speeding away “recklessly,” officials said.

After being taken into custody Walker said the Corvettes “were not the reason” he stole the semi-truck, telling police he needed the truck to get home from prison.

Walker was booked into the Cochise County Jail for multiple felony charges including robbery, 11 counts of theft of means of transportation and felony theft.

The semi-truck was recovered without any damage and released to its original driver, Willcox Police Chief Dale Hadfield said.

“The deputy and officer showed great restraint and patience in bringing a serious crime to a peaceful resolution, all while keeping the property of others from being damaged,” he said in a statement.
