NextImg:Ariana Grande responds to praise over ‘graceful’ reaction to body shamers

Ariana Grande is grateful for those who have shown her support after the singer bravely confronted her body shamers.

“Shut Up Evan” podcast host and Cut contributor Evan Ross Katz praised the “7 Rings” singer for advocating body positivity and self-love in an impassioned Instagram post on Wednesday.

“I marvel at this magnificent human being’s ability to be graceful and compassionate and stay open in a world that continues to challenge,” Katz wrote.

The writer explained that Grande should not have to publicly address her body and doesn’t owe anything to anyone.

“I appreciate her willingness to use this as a moment to say something bigger about health and beauty in all its forms AND to show love to the millions of us who struggle with our bodies and/our [sic] our self-image,” he said, adding, “We love you, Ari!”

Ariana Grande thanked her supporters after taking to TikTok to bash body shamers.

Grande, 29, reacted to Katz’s emotional message by taking to the comments section of his post.

“love you so so so much !!!!!” Grande wrote along with a teary-eyed emoji and a heart-face emoji.

“@arianagrande i love you so much!! thank you for everything. you are doing more than enough. i love you. we missed you so much!!” a netizen said.

“You are a perfect goddess, no matter what anyone says. This video broke my heart ????,” another added, referring to Grande’s TikTok video where she addressed the body shamers.

Grande, who rarely posts personal messages on social media, slammed Internet trolls who claimed the Grammy winner is “too thin” and unhealthy in a now-viral TikTok video on Tuesday.

“The body that you’ve been comparing my current body to was the unhealthiest version of my body. I was on a lot of antidepressants and drinking on them and eating poorly,” Grande explained.

The “thank u, next” artist added, “[I was] at the lowest point of my life when I looked the way you consider my healthy, but that in fact wasn’t my healthy.”

The “Wicked” star went on to say that she shouldn’t have to explain herself but that she wanted to be open and vulnerable in the hopes that some “good might come from it.”

“There are ways to compliment someone or to ignore something that you see that you don’t like, that I think we should help each other work towards,” she said. “We should aim toward being safer, and keeping each other safer.”

Grande noted that being healthy can look different from person to person and even if her fans were just expressing concerns, they don’t need to make comments on someone’s body because it can cause more harm than good.

“So even if you are coming from a loving place and a caring place, that person probably is working on it or has a support system that they are working on it with. Be gentle with each other and with yourselves,” Grande said.

The “Victorious” alum concluded that people should refrain from talking about appearances and just love themselves because everyone is beautiful.

“I think you’re beautiful. No matter what you’re going through. No matter what weight, no matter how you like to do your makeup these days, no matter what cosmetic procedures you’ve had or not or anything,” Grande said.

The pony-tailed pop star was compelled to speak out against body shamers after facing criticism over her appearance when she was photographed attending Jeff Goldblum’s London concert last week.
