Argentine President Javier Milei has split from actress girlfriend Fátima Flórez — just months after they boasted about their “explosive” love life.
The populist leader, 53, blamed the strain of his and Flórez’s conflicting schedules on ending their once-steamy relationship.
“As a result of the overwhelming professional success that Fátima, of whom I am extremely proud, is experiencing, she has received numerous job offers to work both in the United States and in Europe,” he posted on X.
“This, added to the complex task that I am facing today and that the Argentines have entrusted me with, has led us to live apart, making it impossible for us to have the relationship as a couple that we would like to have, despite how much we love each other.
“This is why we decided to end our relationship and maintain a bond of friendship given how much we feel for each other and how much we love, respect and admire each other.”
Flórez has not yet commented publicly about the split — which came just days after they were seen leaving a synagogue in southern Florida together.
There had been no indication of any strain on their relationship, as the two celebrities repeatedly bragged to local news outlets about their sex life.
Milei claimed in October he was “very in love” with the actress as he described their relationship as “exotic” and in an interview in January, Flórez said she was “really hooked on Javier.”
“Even when we are far apart, we are very close. And when we are close, we are close, we are explosive, explosive, you know what I mean?” she told the Sunday Times .
The comedian went on to say she had “no complaints” of Milei’s sexual prowess, adding with a laugh, “There are many satisfactions.”
But, she said, the relationship was also off the charts in other departments.
“I’m super in love with him, head over heels,” she said. “He’s a rock star.”
“People can think what they like,” Flórez continued. “The truth is we are happy together.
“We don’t bring work into our relationship, our moments together are for enjoyment. We use our time together well, caressing each other, hugging, connecting, talking about our feelings, the emotional and spiritual things.”
But even then, she admitted it was tough getting so little time with her then-boyfriend.
“He is a dedicated full-time president, he sleeps very little in order to work and to fulfill everything he has to do, which is a lot, a huge challenge,” she said at the time.
“There’s an emergency situation,” she added, referring to the nation’s economic crisis, “so the moments we have together, we try to make them super-quality.”
“He’s not like a politician,” Flórez gushed. “I’ve never seen any politician so loved by the people.”
Flórez and Milei started dating shortly after they appeared together on an Argentine talk show in December 2022 — just two months after she separated from her husband of 22 years, according to the Daily Mail.
She reportedly joked to Milei at the time, “You are too alone for your important role.”
By October, the couple returned to the talk show to announce their relationship.
“We started talking on Instagram and we started seeing each other much later,” Flórez said.
“It came very naturally. It was very little by little.
“I was in Uruguay, working and we started writing to each other.”
The Argentine president — known for his unruly mop of hair and sideburns — is now facing widespread protests for his spending cuts.
He has pledged to reduce the number of federal agencies from 24 to just eight, and has called for the elimination or combination of the education; social development; women, genders and diversity; and health ministries.
Earlier this month, many federal employees were notified they were being laid off from their jobs, prompting widespread protests in the capital of Buenos Aires, as the frustrated workers demanded they be reinstated.
