Four matches remain in the 2024 Copa America, and kicking off the semi-finals is a familiar matchup. Just as they began the entire tournament, Argentina and Canada will meet again to begin the semi-final round. Back on June 20, Argentina bested Canada 2-0 to kick off the Copa America.
Lionel Messi will play his second consecutive game for Argentina after sitting out the final group-stage match with a thigh injury. Argentina punched their ticket to the semis in a tense 1-1 match against Ecuador that was decided in penalty kicks (including the rare Messi miss).
Canada also landed in the semi-finals thanks to a round of PKs that went their way against Venezuela.

Both teams will play once more regardless of the result; the winner will play in Sunday’s final while the loser will play on Saturday to determine third and fourth place. Their opponents will be decided during tomorrow night’s Colombia vs. Uruguay match.
The match is set to air on Fox Sports 1 (FS1), but those without cable can stream it on Sling TV and DIRECTV Stream, among other live TV streaming services.
Kick-off for Argentina vs. Canada is set for 8:00 p.m. ET today, July 9.
In the United States, you can watch Argentina vs. Canada on FS1. If you have cable, all you’ll have to do to is turn FS1 on at 8:00 p.m. tonight or download the Fox Sports app and sign in with your cable log-in credentials.
There’s less than a week left in the Copa America, but you still may not be able to watch the whole tournament for free. DIRECTV Stream offers a five-day free trial for new subscribers that’ll take you through Saturday. When the trial is over, you’ll pay $79.99/month for over 90 live channels.
If you plan on watching the rest of the Copa America and want to get a little bit of Olympic action in later this month, the most cost-effective way to stream it is without taking advantage of a free trial at all since they end before the final on July 14.
Sling TV’s Blue plan includes FS1, and right now, you can get your first month for 50% off. Instead of $45, you’ll pay $22.50.
Argentina and Canada are headed to the NY Metro area; they’ll play at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ.
