Highlights and lowlights from the Rangers’ 3-2 loss to the Panthers on Thursday night in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Final:
After the Panthers came out firing in the third period, it was Lundell who finally broke through at the 10:22 mark to give them the lead.
The Panther defenseman, who has not gotten near enough attention, made his latest brilliant play by weaving through the Ranger defense and flipping a backhand past Igor Shesterkin in the middle of the second.
The Rangers’ netminder did everything he could in this one and was again victim to a Florida shooting gallery in the final period.
1: Rangers goal at even strength in the last two games combined, which came from Alexis Lafreniere.
“I though we had looks. I thought we had chances.”
