Cop-hating Queens Councilwoman Tiffany Cabán is pushing a new bill that would all but legitimize — and subsidize — the Big Apple’s illegal sex worker industry.

The Democratic socialist, a longtime advocate of decriminalizing sex work, introduced legislation that would grease the wheels for past and present prostitutes and other sex workers to easily receive taxpayer-funded assistance through nonprofits and other organizations while also making it illegal for them to be discriminated against by prospective landlords and others.

The bill also applies to strippers or anyone else who flaunts flesh legally to make a living.

“The city has a responsibility to protect the health, safety, and economic well-being of all New Yorkers regardless of what they do for a living, and let’s be clear: sex work is work,” said Cabán, while introducing the bill on Thursday’s Council meeting.

Cabán’s bill would force the Mayor’s Office of Equity to create a “sex-worker opportunity program” so that government grants could be funneled to community groups that work directly with sex workers to provide “economic support for mobility, health, housing, and social well-being.”

“The city has a responsibility to protect the health, safety, and economic well-being of all New Yorkers regardless of what they do for a living, and let’s be clear: sex work is work,” Tiffany Cabán said.

The bill also prohibits housing discrimination based on a person’s current or former employment in sex work and amends the city privacy laws to protect against disclosing a person’s status as a sex worker.

It’s co-sponsored by two other progressive pols, Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, and Brooklyn Councilwoman Crystal Hudson.

The lefty’s legislation is already receiving plenty of opposition from more moderate and conservative pols who feel the Empire State is already too soft on crime.

“New Yorkers can rest assured that this will work out as well as all of the previous progressive decriminalization laws that have passed in the Council and up in Albany,” said Council Minority Leader Joe Borelli (R-Staten Island), referring to rising crime rates that followed.

While running for Queens district attorney in 2019, Cabán vowed not to prosecute sex workers nor their customers, if elected.

She narrowly lost a hotly contested Democratic primary race to the eventual winner, Melinda Katz.

Reps for Mayor Eric Adams said he’s reviewing the legislation.
