Anthony Volpe, at just 21, will be the Yankees’ starting shortstop on Opening Day next week and his family couldn’t be happier.

The Yankees released a video on their social media of Volpe’s family joining him in celebration in the dugout at Steinbrenner Field on Sunday.

He shared a hug with his father Michael and mother Isabella after nodding to confirm he’d be at short against the Giants on March 30.

During the video, his mom tells someone on her phone mid-hug, “He did it. He did it guys!”

Volpe, who still appeared to be processing it all, proceeded to hug the rest of a heavy family before one more embrace from dad and a yell of “Yankees!” from his grandfather.

The New Jersey native, who was not on the 40-man roster and played just 22 games in Triple-A last season, was largely the underdog going into spring training to walk away with the starting spot over teammates Isiah Kiner-Falafa and Oswald Peraza. But Volpe pretty much did everything right to earn the job.

Last season, Volpe hit .249 in the minors, belting 21 home runs and recording 65 RBIs. But through 17 Grapefruit League games this spring, he battled .314 with a 1.064 OPS and five steals.

The Delbarton grad was selected in the first-round pick as the 30th overall in the 2019 MLB Draft.

He’ll now become the first rookie in the Yankees’ Opening Day lineup since Aaron Judge in 2017.
