Anthony Anderson has been named the host of the 75th Emmy Awards. According to a FOX press release, the annual awards show is slated to air on FOX on Monday, Jan. 15 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET, with next-day streaming on Hulu.

The three-hour telecast — which was postponed in August amid the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes — will air live from the Peacock Theater in downtown L.A. Meanwhile, the Creative Emmy Awards will also take place at the Peacock Theater, but wil be filmed “over two consecutive nights on Saturday, Jan. 6, and Sunday, Jan. 7, 2024,” with “an edited presentation” to air on FOX on Saturday, Jan. 13 at 8 p.m. ET.

FOX Entertainment’s President of Unscripted Programming Allison Wallach noted that they knew Anderson, who is also the network’s upcoming game show We Are Family, would “be a natural fit for a star-studded, anticipatory night like the Emmys.”

“Anthony’s known for his humor, heart and spontaneity, so he’s sure to give audiences in the theater and at home a night they’ll never forget,” she added.

Academy Chair Frank Scherma deemed him “a multi-talented performer and a great friend to the Television Academy.”

“We are thrilled that he is hosting what promises to be a rich celebration of the year’s outstanding television, as well as 75 years of Emmys excellence!” he said.

Anderson — who has “received seven consecutive Emmy nominations for ‘Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series'” in addition to being “nominated for four Emmys as a producer on black-ish for “Outstanding Comedy Series,'” per the press release — shared, “With our industry’s recent challenges behind us, we can get back to what we love — dressing up and honoring ourselves.”

“And there’s no better celebratory moment to bring the creative community together than the milestone 75th Emmy Awards,” the black-ish star continued. “When FOX asked me to host this historic telecast, I was over the moon that Taylor Swift was unavailable, and now I can’t wait to be part of the biggest night in television.”

This announcement comes in the wake of the Golden Globes — which are set to air on CBS on Jan. 7 — struggling to secure a host as their air date inches closer.
