Another classic Star Wars character made a surprise appearance in Ahsoka this week. Early on in Star Wars: Ahsoka Episode 7 “Dreams and Madness” on Disney+, General Hera Syndulla (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) finds herself in hot water with the leaders of the New Republic for disobeying orders and flying off to Seatos. When Chancellor Mon Mothma (Genevieve O’Reilly) can’t bail Hera out, none other than C-3PO (Anthony Daniels) arrives to save the day with a message from Senator Leia Organa, aka Princess Leia. Threepio’s arrival underscores just how willing Star Wars: Ahsoka is to drop a Star Wars Easter egg at every turn. Not only that, but he wasn’t the only major Star Wars character to pop up in this week’s all new episode. Hayden Christensen returned as Anakin Skywalker once more…
**Spoilers for Star Wars: Ahsoka Episode 7 “Dreams and Madness,” now streaming on Disney+**
We learned a few weeks back that although Star Wars Rebels character Hera Syndulla is now a respected General in the New Republic Fleet, certain politicos — like Senator Xiono (Nelson Lee) — would prefer to put their heads in the sand than face the reality that there’s an Imperial Remnant gaining power right under their noses. Because of this, Hera had to disobey orders to follow Ahsoka (Rosario Dawson) and Sabine (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) on their mission to Seatos. When the New Republic finds out, they call Hera back to Coruscant where Xiono wants her to be tried via court martial.
Hera’s fate looks bleak until a familiar gold protocol droid shows up, but was this the real Threepio, Anthony Daniels, or another actor in the cameo? Here’s what you need to know about the big Star Wars cameos in Ahoska Episode 7…

The end credits of Star Wars: Ahsoka Episode 7 “Dreams and Madness” confirms that none other than Anthony Daniels plays Threepio in this week’s episode of the Disney+ show.
The 77-year-old actor first played the fussy protocol droid in 1977’s Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope and has continued to play the character onscreen throughout each and every main saga Star Wars film. This marks the first time he has appeared in a live action Disney+ show, but not the first time he’s hit the smallscreen.
Threepio shows up on behalf of Princess Leia, who officially goes by Senator Organa, in the New Republic. Although C-3PO shares a transcription of Leia’s, we don’t get a video recording… so no deepfake Carrie Fisher. That said, we do get a holo recording of another member of the Skywalker family tree…
Yes, he is indeed! Just a few weeks after Anakin Skywalker actor Hayden Christensen returned to Star Wars in Ahsoka Episodes 4 and 5, he’s back! Albeit, this time, he’s not a specter or vision of the Force. Ahsoka plays a live size holo of her former Master while practicing her lightsaber forms. We learn that Anakin made many of these for his apprentice during the Clone Wars.
Time will tell if Christensen will return for one last cameo in next week’s Star Wars: Ahsoka Season 1 finale…
