Angus Cloud

Euphoria star Angus Cloud has tragically died at the age of 25. Best known and beloved for his role as Fezco “Fez” O’Neill on Euphoria, Cloud was a rising star in Hollywood with a major Universal monster movie in production as well as several other projects.

Cloud’s family released a statement today confirming his death to TMZ: “It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways.”

They added, “Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.”

“We hope the world remembers him for his humor, laughter and love for everyone. We ask for privacy at this time as we are still processing this devastating loss.”

While we do not yet know the exact nature of Cloud’s passing, his family’s statement indicates it has to do with mental illness, specifically grief at the recent death of his own father.

Conor Angus Cloud Hickey was born June 10, 1998 in Oakland, California. He was “discovered” by Euphoria casting agent Jennifer Venditti while working at a restaurant close to the Barclays Center, Brooklyn.

Besides Euphoria, Cloud had a number of projects still yet to be released. He was in the process of shooting an Untitled Universal Monster movie opposite Melissa Barerra and had already completed work on two other films: Freaky Tales and Your Lucky Day. Past projects include turns in North Hollywood, The Line, and music videos from the likes of Noah Cyrus and Becky G and Karol G.

When Decider spoke to Cloud ahead of the Euphoria Season 2 premiere, he lit up when discussing his tender storyline with co-star Maude Apatow.

“Maude is the best. I love Maude to death,” Angus Cloud told Decider. “She’s the sweetest girl ever and Lexi is also the sweetest girl ever. I think it’s literally just that her innocence brings out the innocence in me, you know?”

“You know, Season 1, I was barely cracking a smile. I was super serious the whole time and it was really nice working with Maude and getting to tap into something less serious. The more gentle and nice side of Fezco that he doesn’t let the world see.”

HBO has already released a statement commemorating Cloud’s death on social media: “We are incredibly saddened to learn of the passing of Angus Cloud. He was immensely talented and a beloved part of the HBO and Euphoria family. We extend our deepest condolences to his friends and family during this difficult time.”
