Well, that was fast.
The Angels are calling up infielder Christian Moore, who was the No. 8 overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft, The Post’s Jon Heyman reported Thursday.
Moore, 22, has played in just 79 minor league games over the past two seasons, where he swiftly rose to the Angels’ No. 1-ranked prospect, according to MLB.com.
Through 20 games with Triple-A Salt Lake this year, Moore has hit .350 with a .999 OPS, along with 18 RBIs.
Moore, who started the 2025 season playing for Double-A Rocket City, was quickly promoted to Triple-A in May, with Angels manager Ron Washington insisting that he was ready for the challenge.
“He started swinging the bat better in Double-A and the organization felt like he needed a challenge, so we’re going to give him that challenge,” Washington told MLB.com then. “He might go up to Triple-A and all of a sudden he finds what we want him to do, and he might go up to Triple-A and it doesn’t happen, but we wanted to give him the challenge.”
Washington, 73, also mentioned how Moore’s defense at second base has improved since being drafted.
“The defense was great,” Washington said. “He played in 30-something games, made two mistakes or two errors that showed up. He’s been doing great defensively, and he started swinging the bat better, and we wanted to give him a challenge.”

Over recent seasons, the Angels have built a reputation for bringing their prospects to the majors quickly, with the team calling up 2023 first-round pick Nolan Schanuel after just six weeks following the draft.
During his time with the Angels, Schanuel, 23, has a .263 average and .726 OPS in 241 games.
The Angels also promoted flame-throwing reliever Ben Joyce just a year after he was drafted in 2022, with the righty posting a career 3.12 ERA through 49 innings with the team.
