After publicly accusing Emma Roberts of intentionally misgendering her on set of American Horror Story: 1984, Angelica Ross shared that Roberts has since called her to apologize.

“Thank you @RobertsEmma for calling and apologizing, recognizing your behavior was not that of an ally. I will leave the line open to follow up on your desire to do better and support social justice causes with your platform,” Ross shared in a tweet yesterday (Sept. 20).

In an Instagram Live and in a series of tweets shared earlier Wednesday, Ross — who is an outspoken trans activist and actor — called Roberts out for misgendering her on purpose and making fun of her voice while they were filming together.

“[Roberts] goes, ‘John. Angelica’s being mean.’ I know she’s not being for real, for real,” she said, likely referring to director John J. Gray. “She’s just being whatever. And John is like, ‘OK, ladies. That’s enough. Let’s get back to work.'”

Ross continued,  “And [Roberts] then looks at me. She goes, ‘Don’t you mean lady.'” The interaction made Ross’s blood “boil,” she said, but she refused to report Roberts.

“I didn’t speak to that bitch the entire time after that,” she said. “We had scenes together and I never spoke to her. She said to me she could feel the energy coming off of me. She was like, ‘Are you OK? You haven’t been talking.’”

Ross also claimed she decided not to report it after seeing someone else speak up about Roberts’ behavior in a separate incident. “They got repercussions from it. Not her. They did,” Ross said.

Her accusations against Roberts came after the actress also called Ryan Murphy out for keeping her in first position for a possibly Black-led AHS season and then ghosting her.

In alleged screenshots of emails, Murphy asked for her recommendations of Black actresses to hire for the show.

“After not hearing back,” she wrote in a post sharing a screenshot of her final email. “After sending flowers and no response I sent one last email in Feb 2022 (it took about a year to film season 10 due to COVID) while still contractually in first position with the show. Mind you, Marvel had called twice now. I haven’t heard from him since.”

Neither Murphy nor Roberts have issued public statements regarding Ross’s claims.

Ross starred in American Horror Story: 1984 and American Horror Story: Double Feature. She also gave a memorable performance as Candy, an audience-favorite in Pose.
