Angel Reese was in the house for one of the biggest fights of a generation.
She greeted Terrence Crawford in his locker room ahead of his highly anticipated bout against Canelo Alvarez Saturday night at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
The bout is for Alvarez’s undisputed middleweight title.
Reese towered over Crawford as the two posed for a picture.
Reese has been embroiled in a saga with the Chicago Sky.
She was suspended for one half of a game after comments she made to the Chicago Tribune that the team deemed were “detrimental to the team.”
In the interview with the outlet, Reese said she would not be “settling for the same s–t we did this year,” and she acknowledged potentially doing “what’s best for me” if something didn’t change.
Even after her suspension, Reese did not take the court for the Sky’s final three games, with the team listing her with a back injury.
“Angel is an ascending young talent in this league who’s had two very, very good seasons here in Chicago,” head coach Jeff Pagliocca said. “Obviously, we went through what we did. I feel like we closed the chapter on it. She spoke to her teammates. She spoke publicly. We moved on as a team. She’s a special player. And I have good conversations with Angel daily, with her team daily. They’re constant, and they’re productive.”
Alvarez and Crawford’s bout was part of Turki Alalshikh “Riyhad Season,” and was streamed live on Netflix.
The two fighters have been at the top of the pound-for-pound rankings in recent years.
Crawford moved up three weight classes for the bout.
