Cooper Koch is setting the record straight: He did not use a prosthetic penis in his full-frontal shower scene in Ryan Murphy‘s Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menéndez Story.
The actor, who plays Erik Menéndez in the controversial Netflix series, appeared on Monday night’s episode of Watch What Happens Live, where he confirmed exactly what fans have been wondering ever since the show premiered last month.
It all started when host Andy Cohen closed out the episode of Watch What Happens Live by naming his Top 5 full-frontal moments in cinema. When he referred to Mark Wahlberg’s prosthetic dong in Boogie Nights, Koch made a confession about his own nude scene.
“Also, just to say — mine was not a prosthetic,” he chimed in.
Impressed, Cohen replied, “Well, that was gonna be my next question! Congratulations to you, Cooper. You’re very blessed, aren’t you?”
Koch then quipped, “Well hung.”
Elsewhere during their interview, Cohen asked the actor to name the scariest thing about showing full-frontal nudity on camera.
“You know, it’s not scary. I would say it’s just more uncomfortable at first. And it’s very cold, especially in the shower,” he said, adding that the water was only warm “in the beginning.”
Koch stars in the series alongside Nicholas Alexander Chavez, who plays his onscreen brother Lyle Menéndez. As the second season of Murphy’s Monsters anthology series, Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menéndez Story follows the true story of the Menéndez brothers and their high-profile trial after they murdered their parents in 1989.
While Erik has spoken out against the series, Koch had the opportunity to visit him and Lyle in prison last month.
“[The experience was] not super intimidating,” Koch told Cohen. “I think just more nerve-racking because I’ve known about them for so long and care so much about them. So I was just nervous. But then when I got there it was all great.”
Watch What Happens Live airs Sunday through Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET on Bravo. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
