Andy Cohen is laughing about the amount of Real Housewives using Ozempic.
Cohen, 55, responded to an Instagram post by TV writer Gary Janetti that joked about the stars of the Bravo franchise taking part in the latest celebrity weight-loss craze.
“This summer on Bravo, The Real Housewives of Ozempic,” Janetti, 57, wrote.
“It’s already airing,” Cohen quipped in response.
Ozempic is a medication designed for people with Type 2 diabetes that has become widely used as a weight-loss drug.
Ozempic and Wegovy are semaglutides, which help the pancreas release the right amount of insulin when blood sugar levels are high. The Eli Lilly counterpart Mounjaro is a tirzepatide that has been shown to help control blood sugar as well.
The FDA-approved anti-diabetic medication help with long-term weight management for diabetics and those who are obese, they are now both being used by people who need to lose just five or 10 pounds.
Wegovy has been shown to help reduce body weight by 15%, Ozempic helps users shed about 10% of their total mass, and Mounjaro helps to lose about 10% of their body weight.
The “Watch What Happens Live” host has previously commented on the use of Ozempic for weight loss back in September, tweeting: “Everyone is suddenly showing up 25 pounds lighter. What happens when they stop taking #Ozempic ?????”
Kyle Richards denied taking the drug after rumors were swirling, although “Real Housewives” star Jackie Goldschneider claimed many of her castmates are on it.
“After gaining weight during the summer — on July 15 — after getting off the boat I said ‘That is it. I’m not having any sugar, any carbs, any alcohol,’” Richards, 54, told fellow “Housewives” star Teddi Mellencamp and Tamra Judge in January on an episode of “Two Ts In A Pod.”
“A lot of people think I’ve been taking Ozempic. To clarify I’ve never taken Ozempic,” Richards added.
Many well-known celebrities who use the drug or have been accused of using it, including Chelsea Handler, Elon Musk and Mindy Kaling.
Meghan McCain revealed that she was “urged” to take Ozempic to “melt away the baby weight” as a “quick fix” to lose baby weight just four weeks after giving birth to her second child.
