The (rumored?) affair between Taylor Ann Green and Austen Kroll hasn’t quite turned into a Scandoval-level seismic event just yet, but there’s no denying that it has knocked the early part of this season of Southern Charm off its axis. Last night’s episode concluded with a cliffhanger, of sorts, with Shep Rose (Taylor’s ex) asking Austen a very simple question: Did you two hook up? Austen’s response? “Define hooking up.” (How very Bill Clinton of him!)

While we won’t get Austen’s full answer to Shep’s inquiry until next week’s episode of Southern Charm, both Shep and Austen’s ex Olivia Flowers appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen to discuss the controversy last night. Andy, never one to let a sleeping dog lie, began the program with a crude yet hilarious play on words to introduce his guests: “One guest named Rose and one named Flowers who are both suspicious where Austen may have planted his seed.” (This one earned some groans from the studio audience.)

Andy was undeterred, though, and pressed both Olivia and Shep for as many dirty deets as they could share about the rumored affair that’s rocked Charleston to its core (without spoiling next week’s episode, of course.) Things took a slightly unexpected turn from there, though, when Andy trained his line of questioning on renowned cad Shep Rose, who perhaps let his guard down a bit after having been in the unfamiliar position of residing on moral high ground.

“Do you satisfy your women to completion, Shep?” Andy asked, point-blank.

Shep tried to dodge the question by elaborating on a previously asked q, but Andy was undeterred.

“Do you satisfy your women to completion?”, he sternly inquired for a second time.

Shep finally took the bait. “Yes,” he responded, “I’m a big fan of…” (And then he made this motion.)

SHEP WWHL SEX MOVE

Like the rest of America, Andy wasn’t quite sure what that motion meant, so he took inspiration from Tom Cruise grilling Jack Nicholson in A Few Good Men and pressed onwards. “You don’t leave the room until they are completed, right?”

“I like going, uh…” At this point Shep paused — perhaps due to his Southern upbringing, perhaps due to being unclear with what kind of language could be tolerated on a nationally televised broadcast — and spoke with his hands yet again.

WWHL SOUTHERN CHARM SHEP DOWNTOWN

“Downtown,” Andy volunteered as the audience squealed. It was at this point that an ever-so-brief pregnant pause filled the room, which Shep graciously filled with this humdinger of a qualifier.

“A lot.”

Well well well. We’ve read in etiquette books that a gentleman never kisses and tells, but now we have a whole new context for why the show is called Southern Charm.

Southern Charm airs on Thursday nights on Bravo, and is available to stream on Peacock the following day (as is Watch What Happens Live).
