Andy Cohen has had enough of Tom Schwartz‘s “sheepish” behavior.
On Tuesday night’s (Feb. 20) episode of Watch What Happens Live, the Bravo boss continuously scolded the Vanderpump Rules star for repeatedly failing to step into his confident masculinity. By the end of the episode, some might even say their dynamic turned more into a life coaching session than a talk show interview.
Schwartz’s first uncomfortable moment came after Cohen asked him if he was dating.
“I would say I’m not not dating. I’m hanging out,” he awkwardly confessed. “I think she would prefer that I didn’t say [her name] but I’m hanging out.”
Cohen couldn’t help but notice his guest’s change in demeanor, prompting him to call him out.
“You know what’s interesting? You were all strong right before we went on the air and you’re like sheepish Tom, like, down in your chair right now,” Cohen pointed out. “So get up! You’re a man!”
He added, “Strong voice! Give me what you were giving me in the back.”
Later on in the episode, Schwartz became uneasy yet again when asked about his “whirlwind romance” with Jo Wenberg, who made her Vanderpump Rules debut on Tuesday night’s episode.
“We had a lightning-in-a-bottle situation for a while there,” he said. “And I don’t know if it was sustainable given my mental state of being. I don’t know if I was equipped to be in a committed, conventional relationship. I should’ve been committed.”
Once Schwartz realized he was rambling, he said, “I’ll shut up now,” which reminded Cohen of his infamous first post-Scandoval appearance on Watch What Happens Live last year.
“I was trying to teach him on one of his worst appearances on this show that he doesn’t have to keep talking when he answers questions,” Cohen said.
The conversation came up twice more in the After Show when dating expert and author Thalia Ouimet advised Schwartz to embrace his masculinity and assertiveness in his relationships.
“Yeah, the sheepish act? It’s gotta go. I need more machismo. I need to chop some wood,” Schwartz said, to which Cohen replied, “Bulk up this year! I want you to bulk up. And I want you to get some big arms. Bulk up. And you’re gonna come on here with a different vibe.”
Before he closed out the episode, Cohen gave one final piece of advice to the bar owner.
“I want you to get yourself together — in the best way,” he said. “I want to see that from you at the reunion. Because, by the way, you got your ex-wife there. She’s on you. You have some people that are on you. Wouldn’t you surprise them if you matched their energy?”
Watch What Happens Live airs Sunday through Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET on Bravo. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
