During The View‘s heated discussion this morning about the ongoing Donald Trump hush money trial, co-host Ana Navarro said she thought lawyers went “way too hard” on adult film star Stormy Daniels, who testified this week about her alleged sexual relationship with Trump.
While Trump has denied any affair with Daniels, she says the two had sex in 2006 and that she was paid $130,000 to keep her story secret ahead of the 2016 election.
Navarro said the case reminded her of MeToo on this morning’s episode.
“I don’t know how many women there are that it resonated with the way it did with me, but I can tell you I’ve been in rooms with powerful men where I think I’m showing up for a meeting and they’re half-naked. And I think through MeToo—,” Navarro began to say, but Joy Behar cut her off to ask, “What kind of meetings are these?”
While the line got a laugh, Navarro was serious, replying, “The same meetings that people had with Harvey Weinstein, or with Bill Cosby or with Charlie Rose.
“I’m surprised you haven’t had a meeting like that that somebody didn’t say to you that you thought you were going to advance your career, to get mentorship, to maybe have a business opportunity,” she continued. “You open the door and the guy is half-naked sitting on the bed.”
Behar quipped, “No one wants to see me naked I guess.”
Her remark didn’t sway Navarro, who never cracked a smile as she continued, “This resonates to me, it brought back all of the MeToo issues.”

During the same segment, Sunny Hostin — who attended the trial — told her co-hosts that “Trump’s lawyers argued for a mistrial” because of “the salacious stuff” Daniels said on the stand, including a claim that Trump did not use a condom.
Alyssa Farah Griffin, who used to work for the former POTUS, told her co-hosts she thought “the defense went too hard on Stormy Daniels,” then pointed out that Daniels was 27 at the time of the alleged encounter, while Trump was in his 60s.
The View airs weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
