The View co-hosts all took turns slamming President Donald Trump‘s $45 million military parade on Friday’s (June 13) broadcast, with Sara Haines and Ana Navarro comparing it to the military parades held in Russia and North Korea.
Haines was the first to raise the point as she said, “I think of Russia, I think of North Korea… That’s just not what I think of when I think of the U.S.”
She continued, “You also think about the conversations about cutting waste, and how much is this gonna cost? $40 million, who thinks, ‘Okay, let’s cut all the aid, the school lunches, and all the good stuff, but let’s throw a parade that harkens World War II propaganda.”
Navarro, who shared that she is planning to “peacefully protest” in Miami at a rally that coincides with the parade, added that America has never held a military parade like this.
“It’s the hypocrisy. It’s the fact that we never did it as America, we never had these types of parades because we are the biggest military force,” she said. “And when you are the biggest, the most powerful, you don’t need to show off. Leave it to Kim Jong Un. Leave it for the dictators.”

Navarro spent some time railing against President Trump’s recent spending, noting, “$45 million he is spending on this parade, on top of the $135 million he’s spending sending the Marines and the National Guard to California. So that’s almost $200 million right there at a time when DOGE directed the VA to cancel over 800 contracts.”
She added that Trump’s cabinet previously kept him from throwing a military parade during his first term. “Back then, he actually had adults around him in the cabinet people like four-star generals,” she said. “Now, he’s got these sycophants who say yes to every hair-brained idea that crosses his brain.”
But Joy Behar noted the parade also coincides with President Trump’s 79th birthday.
“I’ll only be interested if Stormy Daniels will jump out of a cake,” she joked before throwing it to commercial.
