Ana Navarro delivered a rather nihilistic warning to Donald Trump‘s voters on this morning’s episode of The View after the incumbent president named Tom Homan as his administration’s border czar.
Homan, a former ICE director, told 60 Minutes he is willing to deport families together under his mass deportation plan. His remark struck a chord with Navarro, who described his words as “chilling” on today’s show.
“You realize that when he says yes, families can be deported together, what he is saying is that U.S. citizens can be deported,” Navarro told her co-hosts. “What he is saying is, if the parent is undocumented and they have U.S. citizen children or U.S. citizen spouse and you don’t want to separate them, then let’s deport the U.S. citizens.
“Look, Donald Trump won the electoral vote. He won, he’s gonna win the House, he won the Senate,” she continued. “For all intents and purposes, he’s got the Supreme Court. They’ve given him immunity. This is what the country voted for. A lot of people thought that when he talked about mass deportations he wasn’t being serious.”
Navarro added, “I don’t know how many times he had to say it for people to realize he was being serious. Well if you thought he wasn’t being serious, the appointment of Tom Homan today as border czar — and he will be in charge of a mass deportation program, the largest the country has ever seen, they say — and now Stephen Miller as Deputy Chief of Staff, should let you know that he was absolutely serious.”

The co-host said that under Trump’s administration, “family members,” “colleagues” and “friends” could be deported. “Look, America, you know, those of you who voted for Trump: This is what you wanted. This is what you voted for. You screwed around and you’re about to find out.”
The audience didn’t seem to know how to respond to Navarro’s gloomy prediction, as a few let out a hesitant, quiet laugh and the co-host pursed her lips and threw her hands up, as if in defeat.
The View airs weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
