The wait for more episodes of America Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders is almost over! Netflix’s hit docuseries returns for Season 2 on June 18, and the streamer is finally giving fans their first look at the highly anticipated next chapter. Helmed by creator/director/EP Greg Whiteley (Cheer, Last Chance U), the latest installment follows the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders from auditions to training camp and through the Dallas Cowboys’ 2024-2025 season. Exciting new faces and stellar seasoned veterans allow the cameras into their lives as they experience highs and lows while redefining what it means to shine under pressure. Luckily, they have DCC Senior Director Kelli Finglass, DCC Head Choreographer Judy Trammell, their staff, and each other to help them navigate the season.
The trailer begins with a group of new DCC cheerleaders celebrating their triumph with a pizza party. “We are a part of each other’s lives forever now,” says one excitedly. “You know what we get to do? ‘Thunderstruck’ at each other’s’ wedding,” giggles another cheerleader. “When we make this team, we’re doing it together because we’re such good friends.” On cue, an ominous music cue plays. “But family doesn’t always end up like that,” says another woman.

A montage of the training camp begins with a group of eager rookies practicing their high kicks. “We are really excited that there are a lot of new girls,” says 2nd year cheerleader Reece Weaver in an interview. “Every year, the talent just gets better and better.” The trailer cuts to Kelli and Judi watching the solo auditions intensely, being impressed by their prepared dances. “We’ve always been told there are 100 more girls who would love to do this job,” says one veteran in a voiceover. “I want to be around the best people,” says aspiring rookie Abby Summers.
Back to audition again, we see Kelly Villares and Charly Barby, who were both cut during the 2023-2024 training camp last season. “Last year, I was cut but I knew the dream wasn’t over yet,” says Kelly in an interview. The trailer also introduces Dayton Bramhall, whom die-hard DCC fans will remember from Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team. “I’m following in my mom’s footsteps,” says Dayton to the camera as archived footage of her mother Shelley is shown. Do these three rookie candidates have what to takes to make the squad? The next scene has Kelli and Judy in their office making another tough decision. “The pressure doesn’t go away,” Kelli tells Judy. “We just cut a good one.” We see the sacrifices the girls make to be on the team. “We all do crazy things in order to be here,” says one cheerleader through a voiceover.
The next scene shows veteran Chandi Dayle sitting in a pilates studio. “I have 3 jobs, 4 if you count DCC,” she says tiredly. Then we see a montage of the girls hanging out, celebrating, and laughing together, proving that with sisterhood, these women can persevere and triumph. But what’s a trailer without a little drama? “People are confused, conflicted,” says Kleine Powell as we watch footage of Chandi walking off the field. “What could have possibly happened?” Back in their office, Judy consoles a weepy Kelli. “It’s hard, but you have to put your heart aside,” said Judy. “Yeah, but at what cost?” asks Kelli tearfully. What a cliffhanger!
