NextImg:Amazon Prime Student Now Available to Young Adults: Price, Free Trial, Benefits

With back-to-school just around the corner (or already happening, in some cases!), you’re probably looking for a way to turn that student ID of yours into ways to save, right?

If you aren’t, you should be; it’s the perfect time of the year to start looking into student discounts.

One of the best streaming discounts for students is Amazon’s which includes Prime Video and all of the membership’s other perks all for 50% off every month. And somehow, ahead of the 2024-25 school year, they’ve made that program even better.

Now, it’s open to anyone college-aged (18-24), regardless of enrolled student status.

Want to learn more? Let’s break down Prime for Young Adults.

Yes! Students who can verify enrollment at an accredited college or university are entitled to Amazon Prime’s 50% off student discount.

Prime for Young Adults is the newly rebranded name for Prime Student. Nothing about the plan itself is changing, so it’s still $7.49/month after a six-month free trial, but now, it’s not limited to just college students.

Anyone between the ages of 18 and 24 is now eligible for the 50% off Amazon Prime membership.

Yes! Before the $7.49/month payments kick in, you’ll get a six-month free trial.

Even if you’re aware of some of the perks that come with a Prime membership, like free fast shipping and the Prime Video streaming service, there are some lesser known ones to take advantage of:
