The wait is over.
It’s finally Ronny Mauricio time in Queens.
Though the highly touted Mets prospect probably should have been called up in June or July, he finally gets the call up to begin September.
With just 28 games to play, it won’t be a huge sample size for Mauricio, but a chance to see what he can bring to a Mets lineup that could use a boost.
This should end the days of Danny Mendick, Jonathan Arauz and Daniel Vogelbach — hopefully.
The September lineup cards should feature the baby Mets.
No more of these guys with no part of the 2024 Mets plans.
Mauricio, Brett Baty, Francisco Alvarez and Mark Vientos should be playing a bulk of these games together.
DJ Stewart is the non-baby Met that also is earning himself playing time.
Give this suffering Mets fan base a reason to watch a last place team this final month.
To talk about Mauricio getting called up, Stewart’s sizzling bat, the future of Pete Alonso and everything else going on in a busy time in Mets land, we bring you a new episode of the “Amazin’ But True” podcast with me and special guest, former Mets pitcher and SNY analyst Jerry Blevins.
