Alyssa Farah Griffin says times are tough for Donald Trump. The former White House Director of Strategic Communications warned her colleagues on The View this morning that Trump is only in for more trouble after he was ordered to pay millions to E. Jean Carroll, whom he was found guilty of defaming.

Carroll, who accused Trump of raping her in a department store in the ’90s, previously won a sexual abuse and defamation suit against Trump in 2023.

On this morning’s episode of The View, Griffin predicted that the latest court loss for Trump — coupled with more aggressive campaigning from his lone Republican rival — is likely to contribute to a “spiral” that she thinks we’ll witness in realtime.

“Knowing Donald Trump personally, I think he’s feeling like the walls are closing in. I think this was a first real consequence he’s seen in some time,” said Griffin, who worked with Trump as Assistant to the President. “I think also the fact that Nikki Haley is actually finally going after him in a real way, you’re gonna see him start to spiral.

“And on top of that, I truly believe he’s in a bit of decline. When you hear him talk, it is not — he’s never been a very eloquent, articulate person — but there is something very different,” she continued. “He’s getting basic facts wrong, he’s confusing Nikki Haley and Nancy Pelosi, he’s saying he’s running against Obama. This is not a man who is doing well, and I think that we’re going to see more of that and it’s gonna help in the voter booth.”

While the panel had plenty to say about the $80 million-plus Trump is ordered to pay Carroll (and even walked out to “For the Love of Money” by The O’Jays, coincidentally The Apprentice theme song), they also dedicated much of their conversation to the courage of Carroll, who has promised to give the money to “something Donald Trump hates.”

Ana Navarro said she empathized with Carroll and commended her for “speaking up on behalf of all the people who have been abused, bullied, assaulted by Donald Trump.”

She proclaimed, “As somebody who’s been attacked by Donald Trump — not sexually, not physically, but verbally — I can tell you that whenever that man attacked you as president, it was like opening the floodgates of hell and letting all the demons out.”

The View airs weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
