Alyssa Farah Griffin wants to make it clear that she’s still not pregnant.

On this morning’s episode of The View, the panel discussed whether parents should be held accountable for their children’s actions. The Hot Topics segment came one day after Jennifer Crumbley, the mother of Ethan Crumbley, was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in connection to the Oxford High School shooting in 2021 that resulted in the deaths of four students.

“I know we’re all parents — well, almost all parents,” Sunny Hostin began before gesturing to Griffin, who is the only co-host without children.

Before Hostin could continue, Griffin chimed in, “To be clear, I’m not pregnant, America,” while Joy Behar joked, “Whoopi will have a premonition. We have to watch that.”

The comedian was referring to the September 2023 episode of The View in which Whoopi Goldberg suddenly derailed a Hot Topics segment about Mitt Romney’s decision not to run for reelection to instead grill Griffin about being pregnant.

“Are you pregnant?” Goldberg abruptly asked at the time, to which a flustered Griffin replied, “No! Oh my god. You can’t say that when my mother-in-law is here, who’s been dying for me to get pregnant.”

When Griffin asked if she looked pregnant, Goldberg said, “Yes, I just got a vibe,” adding that she saw “a glow” in her co-host, who still insisted that she was not pregnant.

“I’m very open to being pregnant soon. I am not blessed to be pregnant yet. My husband and I are thinking about it,” Griffin clarified, noting that she’d take a pregnancy test at home “just to be sure.”

Hostin joined in on the conversation too, asking if they could “take bets” on whether Griffin was pregnant. She said, “We like babies at The View. Because we can have baby showers.”

Griffin later addressed the awkward moment with executive producer Brian Teta on the Behind the Table podcast.

“That’s what makes the show fun. It’s completely unpredictable,” she said, per Entertainment Tonight. “I thought we were talking about Mitt Romney but then we were talking about my pregnancy plans of the future — which just again, headline news, I am not pregnant at this time.”

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
