Allen Lazard was listed as questionable to play Monday night.
He played like someone who wasn’t ready to go.
The Jets’ receiver dropped a pass and committed three penalties in a forgettable performance by the Gang Green offense.
There were several offensive culprits in the Jets’ ugly 27-6 loss to the Chargers in prime time at MetLife Stadium, and Lazard was one of them.
He managed just two catches for 18 yards, again unable to create much separation.
Lazard was uncertain to play due to a knee injury.
But his penalties were even more costly.
His first infraction, an illegal shift in the second quarter, wiped out a 14-yard Breece Hall run, which would’ve been the team’s longest rush of the game.
Early in the third quarter, he was called for a hold, negating a 6-yard Hall run.
Late in the first half, with the Jets trying to drive for a field goal, Lazard dropped what would’ve been a 5-yard pass on second down.
They would have to punt.
It continued what has been an underwhelming year for Lazard in his first season with the Jets.
He has just 18 catches for 261 yards and one touchdown, failing to provide enough production as a solid No. 2 receiver behind Garrett Wilson.
He’s headed in the wrong direction, too.
Lazard has only five catches over the last three games and doesn’t have more than three receptions in a single game all season.
Last year with the Packers, the 27-year-old Lazard was productive, catching 60 passes for 788 yards and six touchdowns, numbers he isn’t going to come close to reaching this year.
Obviously, the Jets’ offensive problems go much deeper than Lazard.
The offensive line has been injury-riddled and inconsistent.

Wilson has not played well aside from a few brief glimpses of promise.
Lazard, however, hasn’t helped matters.
Monday night was the latest example.
