I’ve been in a dry spell. No, not for sex, but for sexy TV shows that actually do more than just shove their NSFW scenes in your face gratuitously. Whatever happened to shows having finesse when it comes to two people (or more) screwing?
That’s why I’m so glad to report that not only does Too Much — which I believe is Lena Dunham’s truest and most exciting follow-up to Girls — exist, it excels at providing a safe space for anyone looking for something funny and sexy at the same time. What’s more, she gives us a whole episode, “Ignore Sunrise,” where Jessica (Meg Stalter) and Felix (Will Sharpe) go at it all night, doing it at least four different times around her apartment. Who needs to choose between night sex and morning sex when you can just be like Felix and Jessica and do both?
That said, it wouldn’t be a comedy without something to laugh at and that is Jessica having previously told Felix she could not stay up all night talking and having sex. Why, you might ask. Well, earlier in the episode, her boss (Richard E. Grant) had to pull her aside — or rather, have someone else pull her aside — to talk about her low energy and distracted nature during the workday. Stern and unflinching, Jessica kicks off the night by promising to go to bed early as she has an 8:30 meeting.
Before she can get in bed, though, they have a whole conversation about how Felix doesn’t think Jessica is nice to herself as she eats her noodles cold and sleeps with the curtains open. When she replied that she has to sleep with the curtains ajar so she knows when it’s morning, Felix assures her that he will wake her up and be her curtains. Unsurprisingly, she jumps his bones right then and there and I truly cannot blame her because I would too.

After his disgustingly hot show of love — the subtle kind, of course — the two go at it like rabbits not just once or twice, but four times, doing it everywhere from the kitchen floor to the the bathroom up against the mirror, the latter of which she uses a toothbrush during. For the former sex scene, Dunham and the other producers chose to play “Touch Tank” by Quinnie, a painfully on the nose choice as the lyrics of that TikTok-viral song go a little something like “he’s so pretty, when he goes down on me.” And you know what? We agree.
Their sexcapades are only interrupted by their casual — or casual for Jessica and serious for Felix — viewing of Paddington, which leaves him in tears. Jessica, meanwhile, is distracted by Wendy Jones’ Instagram page, including one video in which Wendy (Emily Ratajkowski) asks Zev (Michael Zegen) if he would still love her if she were a worm. He diplomatically responds, which triggers Jessica as she had previously attempted the same trend with her ex, which he brushed off and made her feel bad about.
This leads to an intriguing montage in which Jessica pictures being friends with Wendy, complete with boy talk and chill sleepovers, and Jessica even envisions making out with the knitting influencer, which is sexy and deserving of a breakout in its own right.

Let it be known that this episode serves as a reminder that sexy television is still out there and one particular installment can be found by just heading over to Netflix and clicking on Episode 3 of Too Much. Trust us, you will not regret it.
