The details around Alex Galchenyuk’s contract termination are becoming clearer.

Galchenyuk, who was waived on Thursday just 12 days after signing with the Arizona Coyotes, was arrested on July 9 for a hit and run, The Athletic reported.

The winger was charged with private property hit and run, disorderly conduct, failure to obey, resisting arrest and threatening or intimidating, according to the outlet.

The Scottsdale Police Department reportedly said there were no injuries in the incident, and there was only property damage.

Galchenyuk, 29, was booked into jail on Sunday evening and was released the next day on his own recognizance.

Galchenyuk was arraigned on Monday, and a pre-trial conference has been scheduled for Aug. 11, The Athletic reported.

Arizona announced Galchenyuk’s contract termination earlier Thursday.

“The Arizona Coyotes have placed forward Alex Galchenyuk on unconditional waivers for purposes of terminating his contract,” the team wrote on Twitter. “The Club will have no further comments at this time.”

If Galchenyuk clears waivers at noon on Friday with his one-year, two-way $775,000 contract, he will be an unrestricted free agent once again.

Alex Galchenyuk previously played in Arizona.

The 2012 No. 3 overall draft pick spent the majority of last season in the AHL with the Colorado Eagles, posting 16 goals and 26 assists in 42 games.

He failed to register a point in 11 NHL games with the Avalanche this year.

Galchenyuk has previously been linked to off-ice issues.

He was involved in a domestic violence dispute in 2016 and, in 2017, former Montreal head coach Mario Tremblay said Galchenyuk had received treatment in the NHL’s drug and alcohol program.

This claim was never confirmed by Galchenyuk or the Canadiens.
