The Mets are destined to miss the playoffs this year, but that isn’t dampening Alex Cohen’s spirit.
Her husband, Steve Cohen, dropped almost $400 million on a roster that failed to live up to expectations.
But despite all that, Alex Cohen dropped $65,000 on her own for a 30-carat diamond necklace that features VS1 and F-color diamonds with natural rubies and three Mets logos in high gloss enamel on a 14-karat gold chain.

The necklace was designed by celebrity jeweler Will Selby — in collaboration with OMI Jewelry — after he bumped into Cohen at Citi Field, according to TMZ
Alex and Steve Cohen have been married since 1992, long before he dropped $2.4 billion to buy the Mets from the Wilpon family in November 2020.
He’s worth $17.5 billion, according to Forbes, so he can afford his wife’s splurge.

Alex Cohen is the president of the Amazin’ Mets Foundation, which she created after the purchase of the franchise was finalized.
Through Cohen, the foundation is “committed to inspiring philanthropy and community service.”
While Alex Cohen does good work for the Mets off the field, the same cannot be said of the club’s roster on the field.

The Mets sit in fourth place in the National League East with a 52-62 record, putting them seven games back in the wild-card standings.
General manager Billy Eppler held a trade deadline fire sale, moving expensive veterans, including co-aces Max Scherzer and Justin Verlander, to restock the farm system.
