New Mexico prosecutors are set to recharge Alec Baldwin with involuntary manslaughter in connection with the 2021 shooting on the set of his film “Rust” that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

The forthcoming charges were reported by NBC News, which cited two sources close to the case.

Baldwin’s case will be brought before a grand jury in mid-November, a source added.

There have also been recent rumblings of a possible plea deal, they said.

Special prosecutors Kari Morrissey and Jason Lewis dismissed Baldwin’s initial involuntary manslaughter charge in April due to “new facts” in the case.

The New Mexico legal team, however, retained the right to recharge the actor, writing, “This decision does not absolve Mr. Baldwin of criminal culpability and charges may be refiled.”

The latest update comes nearly exactly two years after Hutchins was shot when Baldwin’s prop gun fired on the Western film set on Oct. 21, 2021.

Director Joel Souza was also injured in the incident.
