This class pet is about to get schooled on how to live.

Netflix just dropped the trailer for Leo, an animated musical comedy that follows a 74-year-old lizard (voiced by Adam Sandler) who has been trapped inside the terrarium of the fifth grade classroom in Florida for the majority of his life.

The trailer opens on the fictional Fort Myers Elementary School as the bell rings, with Sandler’s Leo saying, “Wow, summer’s over? Here we go,” as he burps up a butterfly and subsequently slurps it back in his mouth.

“Another year, another batch of fifth-grade head cases,” utters Squirtle the turtle (voiced by Bill Burr), who lives alongside him.

After learning that he only has one more year left to live, Leo reveals that he’s “got a feeling this year’s gonna be different,” as he’s dreaming of what it’s like on the other side of the glass, as a sequence of scenes following his eventual escape from the terrarium flash across the screen.

“Something big is gonna happen,” he adds.

According to Netflix’s Tudum, Leo gets “caught up in the problems of his anxious students — and an impossibly mean substitute teacher” amid his “strange” but “rewarding” bucket list escapade.

The outlet also highlighted that Sandler’s wife Jackie, and daughters Sunny and Sadie lend their voices to the film, all three of whom star in his other Netflix project, You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah. The cast also includes Cecily Strong, Jason Alexander, Rob Schneider, Stephanie Hsu, and more.

Leo will arrive on Netflix on Nov. 21. Watch the trailer above.
