NextImg:Adam Sandler teases "stud" Travis Kelce's cameo in 'Happy Gilmore' Sequel: "Funny and cool as hell"

By now it’s no secret that Happy Gilmore 2 is in the works, but that doesn’t mean Adam Sandler has given everything away.

The actor and comedian revealed that Travis Kelce will make an appearance in the movie on Tuesday night’s episode of The Tonight Show after host Jimmy Fallon asked the star about potential cameos in the upcoming film.

“We have a nice something for Travis,” Sandler said, referring to the Super Bowl-winning tight end. “He’s gonna come by.”

“He’s a very nice guy,” Sandler continued. “You guys would love him in real life. What a big, handsome guy. Funny and cool as hell. He’s a stud and he’s so funny.”

The role is likely not one that Sandler had to talk the football star into. Back in May, Travis revealed on the New Heights podcast he hosts alongside brother Jason Kelce that he was a huge fan of Sandler.

“Man, I didn’t even know there was a job opening for Happy Gilmore 2,” Travis said on the pod. After a bit of back and forth banter with his brother, Travis admitted, “I’ll do anything in the movie. I’ll be part of it any way I possibly can.”

Travis has broken into the realm of television and film recently, announcing in March that he will host Amazon Prime’s spinoff of Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?, titled Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity?

Travis is also in talks to take the stage in Loose Cannons, a new action/comedy from Lionsgate, according to The Hollywood Reporter, and will next appear in Ryan Murphy’s chilling new series Grotesquerie.

The sequel to the iconic original Happy Gilmore was first confirmed by Netflix in May 2024.

“This is happening, we’re getting ready to shoot it in New Jersey,” Sandler shared on the Tonight Show.

“We worked hard on the script, man,” he continued. “We didn’t want to let anybody down.”

The film does not yet have a release date.
