Adam Fox exited Thursday night’s matchup with the Hurricanes and didn’t return after sustaining a lower-body injury in a collision with Carolina forward Sebastian Aho in the first period.

The Rangers star defenseman went knee-to-knee with Aho in the offensive zone and definitely took the brunt of it.

While Aho popped back up, Fox stayed down for a bit and was slow to get up before heading to the bench.

The next Rangers’ power play, defenseman Erik Gustafsson replaced Fox on the first unit as the 2021 Norris Trophy winner went to the locker room.

Fox, who is in his fifth season with the Rangers, has three goals and eight assists for 11 points in nine games so far this season.

His three power-play goals are a new career-high.
